OUR AIM IN THIS SECTION IS TO PROMOTE AWARENESS , AND THE VALUE THAT YOUNG HANDLERS AFFORD TO THE XOLOITZCUINTLE.

TO PROMOTE AN HEALTHY REGARD TO ALL ANIMALS.

AS A CLUB WE ACKNOWLEDGE THE VALUE OUR JUNIORS CAN CONTRIBUTE TO THIS WONDERFUL BREED.

WE WELCOME NEW JUNIOR MEMBERS TO THE CLUB AS WE RECOGNISE THAT THE FUTURE OF THE XOLO IS IN THEIR HANDS.

THROUGH EDUCATION THIS WONDERFUL BREED WILL BE PROTECTED AND PRESERVED !.

‘The Young Kennel Club is about helping young dog lovers learn new skills, build confidence and make new friends. We welcome young dog fans between 6-24 years, with sections for Kids, Teens and Seniors. Anyone from children to young adults can join in the fun with or without a dog’
YKC website

The YKC offers great opportunities for the younger dog enthusiast. They carry out Training weekends, YKC camps, agility, flyball, obedience, stakes classes, handling, grooming, heelwork to music and many more.
This gets younger people involved with the dog world in so many different activities. It also gives members to get to know each other and make lifelong friends.
It would be very good to get the Xolo involved with the YKC as it would give the breed an opportunity to be used in so many different activities and show how versatile they can be.

‘At Crufts 2010 I handled Diva in the YKC Handling Finals and it was, to mine and Donnas’ knowledge the first ever time in the YKC Handling ring where a Xoloitzcuintle was handled and shown by a YKC member in the YKC (Young Kennel Club) Handling Finals’

At Crufts 2011 another Xoloitzcuintle was used in the YKC Handling ring, this time an intermediate.

Hopefully in the future there will be more Xoloitzcuintle’s involved with the YKC.
